What Is the Difference Between Ford F-250 and Ford F-350?
Part of Ford's Super Duty® lineup, both the F-250 and F-350 provide class-topping towing and payload capacities. Both have flex fuel and diesel engine options and have rear-wheel drive (RWD) and four-wheel drive (4X4) options.
All new F-350 models come standard with a TorqShift® 10-speed automatic transmission, while F-250 trucks have a TorqShift® six-speed automatic when the vehicle is powered by the 6.2L flex-fuel gas V8 engine.
The two Super Duty trucks also differ in maximum towing capacity. Max towing capacity for the Ford F-250 is 15,200 lbs. while the F-350 can haul a class-leading 21,200 lbs. when equipped with the correct tow package. You can load the box of an F-350 with up to 7,640 lbs. The F-250 can haul a payload of up to 4,260 lbs.
